If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Athletes often come to me saying things like:

"I just don't play well in games like I do in practice."
"I don't know why I keep making mistakes."
"I just get so worried before games."
"I am worried I am not going to be as good when I get back from my injury."

Whether you are an athlete feeling frustrated — or a parent watching your child struggle — these challenges are incredibly common. And the good news is, they’re workable.

How I help

This isn’t about motivational quotes like “just think positive”

My work focuses on practical mental skills athletes can actually use:

  • Building confidence that lasts — even after mistakes
  • Managing pressure, anxiety, and expectations
  • Recovering mentally after injuries or tough seasons
  • Developing resilience and emotional control

Every athlete is different, so sessions are personalized, supportive, and built around real situations you’re dealing with.

Who I Work With

  • Middle school and high school athletes
  • College athletes
  • Athletes returning from injury
  • Parents looking for support for their child
  • Coaches seeking better mindset tools
All sessions are held online, making it easy to fit support into busy schedules.

Hi, I’m Dr. Matthew Myrvik

I’m a licensed psychologist who specializes in sport and performance psychology.  I’ve worked with athletes across many sports and competitive levels, helping them navigate pressure, confidence issues, and mental blocks that hold them back.

My goal is simple: help athletes feel confident, prepared, and in control again.

How It Works

  1. Book a free consultation
We’ll talk about what’s going on and what I can do to help.
  2. Create a personalized plan
Sessions focus on skills you can use right away.
  3. Build confidence over time
Progress happens step-by-step, with support along the way.
