Excel Sport Psychology was built out of a passion for athletic performance. After years of working in an office setting, the owner and founder of Excel Sport Psychology, Dr. Matthew Myrvik, wanted (1) to branch out to provide sport psychology services in a more natural space, such as home, and (2) reach to a larger network of athletes and spread the benefits of mental performance skills training to athletes at every level.

Hi there! I'm Dr. Matthew Myrvik
I spent the first few years as a psychologist trying to find my true passion. Then I met the field of sport psychology. Finding a way to help athletes excel at what they enjoy was truly the job for me!

My approach to athletes incorporates problem solving (with humor) design to achieve performance success and enjoyment. I offer this in a virtual setting to provide maximum convenience and comfort, which I have found is important to athletes’ schedules.
